The Shape 40 Studio Monitor offers low tweeter directivity for flexible listening positions and is designed without a port, allowing placement close to a wall. It can be used from a distance of 60cm, adding versatility. The extended frequency range of 60Hz to 35kHz ensures detailed audio reproduction, making it perfect for mixing and mastering.

The Focal Shape 40 boasts a unique design with a side-firing, 4-inch double passive radiator. Its 1-inch M-shaped aluminum/magnesium inverted dome tweeter, paired with a 4-inch flax sandwich cone woofer, delivers extended low-end response. The monitor's portless design allows placement near walls, and it performs well from 60cm away, ideal for larger spaces. Its superior technology ensures transparent, uncolored sound, suitable for professional audio work.

Exceptional Sonic Accuracy

The 4-inch flax sandwich cone ensures optimal low-end response with a flax fiber core sandwiched between fiberglass layers, providing high internal damping and exceptional sound velocity. This design offers optimal sound neutrality, perfect for audio mixing and referencing. Two Class AB amplifiers power the drivers, ensuring controlled bass and detailed mid-range. The 1-inch M-shaped tweeter provides exceptional high-end detail, complementing the flax cone for a natural and rich sound.

TMD (Tune Mass Damper) Technology

The TMD technology stabilizes the dynamics of the flax sandwich cone woofer, preventing cone deformation without affecting dynamics. This technology, used in earthquake-resistant buildings and racing suspensions, reduces woofer fatigue over time, ensuring a natural and rich mid-range.

NIC (Neutral Inductance Circuit) Technology

NIC technology ensures a stable magnet circuit, optimizing the custom Faraday ring for high-definition audio fidelity. This results in detailed audio with uncompromised dynamics and contrast.

Sleek Design and Attenuation Controls

Housed in an MDF cabinet with a natural walnut veneer, the Focal Shape 40 is both stylish and acoustically optimized. The rear panel includes various settings, such as a high-pass filter, adjustable crossover at 160Hz, and adjustable bass and treble, allowing customization for any space. The cabinet also features mounting threads for ceiling and wall mounts (fastening accessories not included).
