FULL DESCRIPTION

The Moog MINITAUR Analog Bass Synthesizer represents a compact yet potent addition to the esteemed Taurus lineage of analog bass synthesisers. Engineered for seamless integration into live performances or computer-based music setups, the MINITAUR delivers deep, subharmonic bass capable of shaking the very foundations.

Sporting two voltage-controlled oscillators offering selectable sawtooth and square waveforms, the MINITAUR exudes that iconic Moog sound recognised worldwide. Its 24dB/octave low-pass filter, coupled with adjustable resonance, further refines the sonic output to perfection. Moreover, the MINITAUR boasts twin Minimoog-style ADSR envelope generators, empowering users to modulate both the filter and amplifier with precision.

Despite its modest footprint, the MINITAUR hosts an array of sound design and performance controls. Encased in sturdy steel, its interface provides immediate access to essential parameters, ensuring swift and intuitive operation. However, beneath its unassuming exterior lies a realm of boundless creative potential, easily harnessed via laptops or MIDI controllers. Compact yet commanding, the Moog MINITAUR Analog Bass Synthesizer stands as the ideal ally for musicians and producers seeking to infuse their compositions with resounding, thunderous bass.

Dual VCOs with Selectable Sawtooth/Square Waveforms
Equipped with two versatile Voltage Controlled Oscillators (VCOs), the MINITAUR serves up the primary sound source for your compositions. Spanning six octaves, these oscillators generate the electronic vibrations that morph into audible sound. OSCILLATOR 1 (VCO 1) assumes the role of the master oscillator, while OSCILLATOR 2 (VCO 2) harmonises accordingly. Both oscillators can be tailored to produce either Sawtooth or Square waveforms via user-friendly waveform selection switches. Fine-tuning is made precise with the FINE TUNE control, ensuring utmost flexibility and accuracy in sound sculpting.

Versatile Frequency Control
The frequencies of the MINITAUR's oscillators are subject to various influences, unleashing a plethora of creative avenues. Primarily governed by 'Note On' commands from external MIDI controllers or DAWs, these frequencies respond to Control Voltage for playing in equal-tempered scales. Additional control sources include the GLIDE circuit, VCO 2 FREQ, PITCH CV INPUT, FINE TUNE control, and the modulation (LFO) circuit. Such comprehensive control options empower precise tonal manipulation and shaping.

Classic Moog 24dB/Oct Low-Pass Filter
At its core, the MINITAUR features the legendary Moog 24dB/Octave Low-Pass Filter renowned for its warmth and richness. With adjustable resonance, this filter offers meticulous control over cutoff frequencies, enriching bass tones with depth and character. Whether pursuing velvety smooth basslines or aggressive, resonant timbres, the MINITAUR's filter stands ready to fulfill your sonic aspirations.

Minimoog-Style ADSR Envelope Generators
Injecting further dynamism and expressiveness into your sound, the MINITAUR houses twin Minimoog-style ADSR Envelope Generators (EGs). These generators modulate both the Filter (VCF) and Amplifier (VCA), influencing the brightness and volume of the synthesizer's output. The DECAY knob governs decay and release segments, while the RELEASE switch toggles release segment functionality. With the ability to shape envelopes and adjust their duration, captivating and evolving sounds tailored to your musical sensibilities await.

MIDI-Syncable LFO for Modulation
Central to crafting musically expressive sounds is modulation, and the MINITAUR's MODULATION section is crafted for precisely this purpose. The MIDI-syncable Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) offers adjustable RATE and AMOUNT controls for both oscillators (VCO) and the filter (VCF). Generating a signal that modulates oscillator pitch and filter cutoff frequency, the LFO facilitates vibrato simulation, captivating filter sweeps, and the creation of unique synthesiser effects. This expansive toolkit opens doors to dynamic and evolving bass sounds limited only by your imagination.

Wide Range of Connection Options
Connectivity options abound with the MINITAUR, catering to diverse needs. A 1/8" stereo headphone output ensures private monitoring, while a 1/4" unbalanced output facilitates connection to audio interfaces or amplifiers. The external audio input enables processing of external audio through the mixer and filter section, augmenting sonic versatility. Analog control inputs for pitch, filter, volume, and gate allow seamless integration with other Moog products. DIN MIDI and USB MIDI connections grant comprehensive control over the MINITAUR's sound engine, effortlessly integrating it into studio setups or live performances.
