FULL DESCRIPTION

The Moog Minimoog Model D stands as a reimagining of one of the most legendary synthesizers ever crafted, meticulously recreated to encapsulate the timeless essence and sonic brilliance of this iconic analog synth. Restoring this classic for contemporary audiences, Moog has painstakingly replicated the internal circuitry right down to the components, housed within a meticulously crafted Appalachian cherry cabinet.

Highlighting the revered low-pass ladder filter alongside three formidable oscillators, the Minimoog Model D solidified its status in the synth realm with its rich and distinct tonal character, gracing countless hit records. While honoring its origins, Moog has also integrated a suite of modern updates to propel it into the present day. A new dedicated analog LFO boasting triangle/square waveshapes is now present, alongside the inclusion of a premium-grade Fatar keybed featuring velocity and after-pressure sensitivity via top-panel CV jacks. Additionally, MIDI connectivity and a mixer feedback modification have been incorporated to deliver potent distortion with a simple twist of a knob.

A notable addition is the spring-loaded pitch wheel, enhancing expression for optimized performance. Beyond its aesthetic allure, each Model D is meticulously hand-built in Asheville, North Carolina by a team of specialists. Adorned with the classic control panel and retro-style knobs, this 2022 reissue is an essential acquisition for any devoted synthesizer aficionado. This exclusive synthesizer is available for a limited time only, making it a coveted addition to any collection.

Blending classic allure with contemporary ingenuity, the Minimoog Model D retains the timeless allure and sonic purity of its predecessor while embracing modern enhancements. The introduction of the premium Fatar keyboard, complete with expressive controls like velocity and after-pressure sensitivity, ensures seamless and nuanced playability, enabling the creation of a vast array of sounds, from ethereal pads to cutting-edge leads.

Incorporating a suite of upgrades and modifications while honoring its original design ethos, this reissue boasts an array of enhancements. The trio of vintage Moog oscillators, underpinned by military-spec precision resistors, remains at the core of the synthesizer. Notable modifications include additions to the CV, Modulation, and Overload sections.

The CV enhancements encompass the addition of new outputs for Pitch, Aftertouch, Velocity, and Gate. The Modulation section now features an analog Triangle/Square wave LFO and Filter Envelope as modulation sources. Furthermore, the output of the Minimoog Model D is scaled and looped back to the External Audio Input, enabling dynamic overdrive. Enhancements to the circuit board connectors ensure touring reliability, enhancing overall durability.

Remaining faithful to the original design, this reissue preserves all the functionality and aesthetics of its predecessor. Initially introduced in the 1970s, the original Minimoog Model D set a new standard for analog synthesis, finding its way into a myriad of musical compositions.

It revolutionized the synthesizer landscape by amalgamating the sonic characteristics of Moog's large-format modular synths with the convenience and accessibility of pre-wired modules. The Minimoog Model D has left an indelible mark on music history, favored by luminaries such as Dr. Dre, Gary Numan, Herbie Hancock, Trent Reznor, and countless others. This reissue remains unchanged, retaining the original sound engine and audio signal path, capturing the essence of its vintage predecessor.

The warm and gritty analog circuitry of the original has been faithfully replicated, utilizing custom reissued transistors to deliver exceptional sound quality and tonal richness. While staying true to its roots, the design has seen subtle enhancements, including the inclusion of the premium-grade Fatar keyboard with velocity and Aftertouch capabilities. MIDI integration has also been introduced, ushering the Model D into the modern era. This enables seamless integration with MIDI-compatible devices such as audio interfaces and DAWs, facilitating its incorporation into contemporary music productions.
