Active Desktop Monitoring Speaker System - Black (Pair)
Active 3.5" Aluminium Woofers & Ferrite Magnets
The D3V is an optimized speaker system with an extremely symmetrical voice coil and ferrite magnet system, minimizing unwanted distortions and providing uncoloured sound even at high output levels. The fully active design boasts four individual amplifier channels and DSP-managed crossover, with 80W amplifiers powering the woofers.
D-ART Tweeter
ADAM Audio's highly capable 1.5” Desktop Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter is the result of a quarter century of ribbon tweeter research and development. Each diaphragm is meticulously hand folded and glued, with 40W amplifiers driving each unit. Like all of ADAM Audio's tweeters, the D-ART incorporates crossover fine-tuning managed by highly accurate DSP.
Passive Radiators
The D3V features dual-sided passive radiators on each speaker, totaling four per system. These radiators use a stainless-steel plate as the moving mass and a specially stabilized long-stroke rubber surround for the suspension. They work together to enhance the system's low-end response and contribute to the overall sound pressure level (SPL) of the speaker system.
Direct USB-C Input
The D3V is ADAM Audio's most convenient and versatile monitoring system, featuring a Plug'n'Play USB-C input. When connected to a computer, mobile, or tablet, the loudspeakers act as a digital output device, eliminating the need for an extra audio interface. This direct digital connection enables high-quality audio playback without the typical compression or conversion found in desktop monitors, making it suitable for a variety of audio applications.
DSP Room Acoustics
The left speaker's backplate features three switches: "POSITION" for adjusting the loudspeaker's position, "DESK" for optimizing sound based on desk size, and "ROOM" for enhancing sound quality based on acoustic treatment.
Balanced Analogue Inputs
The D3V has USB-C and analogue inputs for various audio applications. It supports balanced connections to audio interfaces and direct connections to hardware like synthesizers and DJ mixers. Switching inputs is easy with the volume knob on the left speaker.
Headphone Output, Stands & Mounting Options
The D3V was designed for functionality and convenience. It features a front-facing headphone output for seamless audio playback, detachable stands angled at 15°, and a standard threaded 3/8” hole for mounting on microphone stands.
Injection-Moulded Cabinet
The D3V cabinet is constructed from high-grade injection moulded ABS Polycarbonate with robust walls, ample bracing, and a rounded shape to reduce sound diffraction and honour ADAM Audio's industrial design heritage.
